# AI Instructions: what they are and how to edit them

Instructions are essential for defining your Agent's behavior and capabilities in AIsuru. You can use them to set:

* Your Agent's **role and expertise**;
* **Response style**;
* **Behavioral limits and guidelines**.

{% hint style="danger" %}
Never include confidential information in your Agent's instructions. **Anything you put in the instructions could be revealed to the user**!
{% endhint %}

### Accessing and editing instructions

To edit your Agent's instructions, follow these steps:

1. Open the management panel for the Agent you want to configure;
2. Select  **Settings** in the sidebar;
3. Inside the page, open the  **AI** section;
4. Find the "Instructions" field, make your changes, and click "Save changes".

*Note: The "Instructions" field can be expanded by clicking "Expand" to open an advanced system prompt editor.*

# Agent Instructions: Querying This Documentation

If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.aisuru.com/en/generative-ai/ai-instructions/ai-instructions-what-they-are-and-how-to-edit.md?ask=<question>
```

The question should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
